Yoga

Eight ways into the practice, from a strong morning flow to holds long enough to forget you're in them. All of them Rs. 5,000, all of them open to every level.

Practitioners moving through a flow together in the shala

Vinyasa Flow

90 min · All levels · Rs. 5,000

A flowing, breath-led practice that builds warmth gently rather than forcing it.

We begin slowly, letting the breath set the pace, then build into a steady flow that warms the whole body. Sun salutations, standing sequences, and long quiet closing postures. Modifications are offered throughout, so the class works whether it's your first week of practice or your fifteenth year.

Slow Flow

75–90 min · All levels · Rs. 5,000

Everything a flow class is, taken at half the speed — with time to actually arrive in each shape.

The same breath-led movement as vinyasa, but unhurried. Fewer postures, held longer, with space between them. Good for a body that's tired from travel or surf, and good for anyone who finds faster classes rush past the part that matters.

Hatha Yoga

75 min · Beginner friendly · Rs. 5,000

Classical postures held with care and clear alignment — an unhurried way into the practice.

A grounded, traditional class built around held postures, steady breathing and simple sequencing. We take time to explain the shape of each posture and why it's there. If you're new to yoga, or returning after time away, start here.

Yang to Yin

75 min · All levels · Rs. 5,000

Warmth first, then surrender — an active opening that melts into long, supported holds.

The class begins yang: moving, building heat, working the muscles. Then it turns. The second half is yin — passive holds of three to five minutes with generous props, working into the deeper connective tissue. Doing both in one session leaves the body worked and the nervous system settled.

Yin Yoga

75 min · All levels · Rs. 5,000

Long, supported holds that let the body soften and the nervous system settle.

Postures held for three to five minutes with generous props, working into the deeper connective tissue rather than the muscles. The pace is unhurried and the light is low. This is the class to come to after a long travel day, a hard surf, or a week that asked too much of you.

Yin Yoga & Sound

90 min · All levels · Rs. 5,000

Yin's long holds, carried by singing bowls and chimes as the light goes.

The stillness of yin with sound woven through it. As the body settles into each long hold, bowls and chimes fill the shala, giving the mind something to rest on rather than something to fight. Many people describe it as the deepest rest they've had in months.

Vinyasa & Sound

90 min · All levels · Rs. 5,000

A morning flow that dissolves into sound — movement first, then complete stillness.

We flow through the first hour, building warmth and working the body properly. Then everything stops: mats become beds, blankets come out, and the closing half hour is given entirely to sound. Starting the day this way tends to change the whole shape of it.

Arm Balance & Inversions

90 min · Some experience helpful · Rs. 5,000

A playful, technical workshop for getting upside down — safely, and without ego.

Taught as a workshop rather than a flow, with time to break down the mechanics of crow, headstand, forearm balance and handstand. Walls, blocks and spotting are all used freely. You don't need to already have these shapes — you need to be willing to fall over a few times and laugh about it.

Beyond the mat

Breathwork & sound

Nothing here asks anything of the body. You lie down, you're guided, and something shifts.

Breathwork & Sound Healing

90 min · All levels · Rs. 6,000

Guided conscious breathing, then bowls and voice — simple in form, often profound in effect.

Structured breathing practices held in a safe, unhurried container, followed by a sound journey while you rest. Breathwork can move a great deal, physically and emotionally, and you are guided closely throughout with full freedom to slow down or stop at any point. No experience or flexibility needed — the whole session is spent lying down or seated.

The shala isn't only for the people passing through. These are the afternoons that root it here.

Cooking Workshop

90 min · Everyone welcome · Please ask

Sri Lankan home cooking, taught by hand — and eaten together afterwards.

A hands-on afternoon learning the dishes that actually get cooked in homes along this coast: rice and curry, sambols, coconut everything. You'll cook it yourself and then sit down and eat what you made. One of the warmest afternoons in the week.

Kids Workshop

Varies · Children · Free

Movement, play and stillness for the children of the village — held every week.

A safe space is built not with walls, but with attention. Each week the shala opens for the children of the village to move, play, breathe and rest. It's free, it's noisy in the best way, and it's one of the reasons this place exists.

Start with Hatha or Slow Flow

Both are gentle ways in, and the teaching takes time to explain what each posture is for. If you'd rather talk it through first, message us — we're happy to point you somewhere that fits.
